The Slink Fire enters Little Antelope Valley above Coleville, California.

The Slink Fire left Slinkard Valley yesterday and came over the hills to burn above the towns of Coleville and Walker last night. It was listed as 6500 acres and 5% contained.

The Slink Fire Invades Little Antelope Valley

As I drove away, the brightest spot in the panorama above turned into a fire tornado at least two to three hundred feet tall. A pillar of flame. I’ve seen smaller ones, but nothing like that.

The nearly-full moon was bright over the Slink Fire and smoke last night.

As of the morning of September 5, the Slink Fire is reported as having burned 18,665 acres, with 15% containment.

  1. My son has property in Coleville along hwy 395 next too the post office. How close to the property is it? No buildings on it.
