*Exploring the Dunes in Death Valley *

On one particular trip to Death Valley I experienced stunning side-light on the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley National Park, California. This really drove home to the point that even the most common of iconic locations can have subtle lighting conditions that are very specific to astronomical conditions such as sun angle. I plan all of my photography trips and workshops around specific astronomical bonuses. I'll be back in the park April 9-12: http://www.jeffsullivanphotography.com/blog/death-valley-photography-workshop-2013/
