My first smartphone was the original Droid, but Verizon stopped upgrading the OS within a few months of my purchase, so it quickly became a paperweight as I couldn't get critical emerging apps for it.
Later I had the HTC EVO running Android, returned it as a lemon and the replacement was just as buggy. Then Sprint reneged on their 2 year contract for unlimited data, so that had to go. Now Sprint is offering unlimited data again, but they clearly can't be trusted not to can that partway into a 2 year service contract! Live and learn. I was very pleased with the iPhone 4S and have the 5S now. It looks like the iPhone 6 Plus camera is better enough to justify the upgrade.
I like the availability of unique apps and hardware for iOS devices given the larger revenue opportunity available in that user base. The new features of iOS 8 such as being able to share music and apps among up to 5 users looks very attractive as well.
