Fall Colors are Coming to the Sierra Nevada!

As the nights cool and the days get shorter here in the Eastern Sierra, it's fun seeing patches of color appear on the aspen and cottonwood trees. We're only about 2 weeks away from Fall colors in the highest elevations, and about 3 – 5 weeks from color everywhere above 5000 feet or so. Fall is one of my favorite seasons for photography… like tax season for a CPA.

Fall is also when I'm holding a lot of workshops. Often our first snow comes early in the Eastern Sierra, so that's why I'm holding my Fall colors workshop in the Bishop area October 5 – 6. That's right around when the first storm often arrives, and hopefully before the leaves get blown down.

The area around the Mono Basin has been turning color later in recent years, so that's scheduled for October 19 – 20. While the main workshop occurs Saturday/Sunday to accommodate people who will be driving up after work on Friday, I made sure that my permits covered Friday as well if you can make it up a little early.

PayPal enrollment buttons have been placed on the front page of my blog: www.JeffSullivanPhotography.com/blog.

Then last but not least, I'm betting that Yosemite Valley will be stunning Nov 15 – 17 this year. I was finding good color in Yosemite as early as mid-October last year, but most tree species were late in Yosemite Valley and my favorite visit was all the way at the end of November. I'll get a separate announcement out on that workshop on my +Yosemite National Park Workshops page.
