I demonstrated creating a star trails photo in a +Landscape Photography Show  hangout on G+ recently, using the free StarStaX app: http://youtu.be/YWtkgD4ofMo?t=17m43s

Since mid-June a new version 0.60 of StarStaX has added a "comet" mode to show the direction of rotation of the stars, as shown below.

  1. I want to know how you do this efect do you set camera on omen special seting cause I whant to play with that camera I got learn I took some small town dads year book teacher so he thought me on a old canon I can do dark room stuff I like it most.

  2. This is fantastic. Makes me dizzy just looking at it. Except for the damn wire hanging overhead like a divider ! The other light line may be a satellite, at lower right near horizon.
