Anza-Borrego Four Day Photowalk

I have to say that shooting with other G+ photographers on the photowalks last year was some of the most fun I've had in ages. The warm-up trip was to explore the 600,000 acres of the largest state park in California: Anza-Borrego State Park.

This was taken in Borrego Springs Sculpture Park in the town of Borrego Springs.  It features over 130 giant metal sculptures, many representing mammals or dinosaurs which used to roam the area.   The town of Borrego Springs has been named a Certified Dark Sky Community by the International Dark Sky Association in 2009 for taking steps to reduce light pollution and enhance night sky viewing.

Joining me on this trip were +Lori Hibbett +Lori Carey +John H. Moore +Tony Payne +J. Rae Chip +Elena Omelchenko +Cat Evans +Angela Andrieux +Thu Huyen and +Kimber The Dog.  We were able to meet and shoot with +Ron Niebrugge as well, who was leading a workshop in the area.

To see more photos from the trip, check out the other participants' albums shared on the +2012 Anza-Borrego page, and for more Anza-Borrego photos click on the album name on the photo below or this link:

  1. My first post of this photo was over on my +2012 Anza-Borrego page for the trip, then I shared that post here (expecting the page's text to be visible.  The text dropped in the share (calling it a share of the photo only).  OK, but in my notifications there are two instances, one with multiple comments and more +1s, but it's not here in my stream of posts.  Interesting!

Unfortunately shares only show the photo, none of the accompanying text. I guess I won't try sharing to the page first again (unless a copy of they photo resides there)!

  2. What a great outing that was! I was never much of a social photographer before but I had such a fantastic time and made some really great friends. One of the best things I did in 2012. If you have a chance to join Jeff and Lori on one of their photowalks do it!
