Milky Way over Hoover House at Bodie

We're having great Summer monsoon weather with thunder storms in the afternoons, and that can be great for sunsets, but that's making it challenging to capture the Milky Way at night.  This was taken just as the clouds were breaking up over the "ghost town" of Bodie last Saturday night.

  1. Esta imagen me enseña, que aunque tengas una casa modesta pero en tu jardin un hermoso paisaje que practicamente llegas a tocar el universo, ya eres mas rico que cualquiera que vive en su departamento con comodidades en la ciudad. Hermoso!

  2. Hi Jeff,  I wanted to ask you when your Death Valley Workshop is in December and when I can sign up to go with you?  Please let me know as that is on my bucket list!  I want to get some night shots like this.

  3. +Chris Warren  The best opportunity for Milky Way shots like this is in the Summer when the galactic center of the Milky Way is high in the sky, such as at our August 9 workshop in Bodie:

Death Valley will be good too, but I'm timing it for full moon rise and set and comet ISON, although we may catch a few Geminid meteors as well.

I sent you an email and a private post via G+, I hope that you've received one or both.
