One Year Ago Today: Wildfire in Record Hot Year in the U.S

This is from the Topaz Ranch Estates Fire May 22, 2012, just over the hill, about 2 miles from where +Lori Hibbett and I live.  We saw the smoke and went to the top of that hill to capture this pictures.

U.S. Roast to Hottest Year on Record, By a Landslide
"How hot was it? The temperature differences between years are usually measured in fractions of a degree but last year blew away the previous record, set in 1998, by a full degree Fahrenheit."
