Join Me to Tour Gold Mines in Central Nevada

Nevada Mines and Ghost Towns at Night

I wanted to share a bunch of Death Valley photos from my trip last week, but my album shares aren’t working at the moment, so here’s a shot from the return trip through Nevada.

Since that visit in 2013, I’ve returned to catch the mine in better light, like this shot from 2018:

Scouting locations for future Nevada photography workshops.

As of 2019, now we’ve managed to arrange interior tours with the mine’s owner. Here’s a shot from inside looking out:

Contact me for details on when we’ll revisit. Following the success of our Nevada photography workshops in 2018 & 2019, we’ll probably return in Fall 2019 or May 2020, but in the meantime we’ve had a request to add Central Nevada mining towns to our Bodie workshop in late August 2019! We may add another Nevada workshop itinerary for fall 2019 as well: https://www.jeffsullivanphotography.com/blog/nevada-photography-workshops/

  1. +Jeff Sullivan God knows how old Marta Beckett is by now. Don't wait too long. My dad used to take me up there a lot in the 1980s. He would help her restoring the place. I remember once we went near the Hoover Dam to get some theater chairs someone had donated to the opera house. I need to get back down there. It's been 25 years or so, at least.

        1. Hi Jeff, I hope that you got some great shots at Goldfield a couple of weeks ago. I hope that you came back to see the mines lit up at night !! Jon.

          1. Still working on the files… I added a Milky Way photo to the top and a night time-lapse video to the bottom of this post. Yesterday I submitted several photos to the Great Nevada Picture Hunt contest. Winning photos get featured in Nevada Magazine!
