Pinterest is Still Not for Photographers: Round 2

Interesting data points for pro and semi-pro photographers from PhotoShelter founder +Allen Murabayashi
"One of the benefits of running a website service used by so many photographers is that we can see website analytics in aggregate. So I know definitively that Facebook and Stumbleupon drive significantly more traffic than Twitter and Pinterest. I also know that the sales conversion through Facebook is much higher than Pinterest across all the PhotoShelter websites."

I set up an account recently to check the site out (http://pinterest.com/jeffsullphoto/), but my understanding is that it's considered uncool to share one's own content, yet the terms of the site say:
"You grant Pinterest and its users a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide license…"

You can't grant a license for anyone's content but your own, while the normal operation of the site requires you to somehow do so for others' content… a Catch-22.  It seems to me that it would be difficult to use the site legally, except re-pinning content already on the site, but then how did that content enter the site (legally) in the first place?  In theory you could get it all from a site which offers Pinterest sharing links such as Flickr and assume that somehow the terms of the sites are such that the copyright owner of the image has granted the permission.  But the Pinterest link is hidden on Flickr and I'm not sure many users have noticed it, seen or adjusted the settings controlling its presentation and use.  Pinterest has seen the discussion of these concerns about the operation of their site for ages, and reviewing their terms and Pin Etiquette today I see no additional clarity provided.
