Storms in the Eastern Sierra This Week

Afternoon and evening clouds have been building for the last couple of days.  Last night the temperature dropped to 38 degrees here at sunset, and it was snowing intermittently as I captured this image.

Overnight, occasional thunder and lighting passed by.  Scattered thunderstorms remain in the forecast for the next 5 days, with partly cloudy skies continuing for another 3-4 days after that.  Temperatures will drop below freezing at Mono Lake, so there could be a fresh dusting of snow on the Sierra Nevada in places as isolated storms form and pass over.

The weather forecast for Lee Vining alongside Mono Lake has possible snow in the forecast for Tuesday, so the Web cams may show some interesting conditions for California photographers looking for somewhere to shoot later this week: http://www.monolake.org/today/webcam
Yosemite's Badger Pass has a similar forecast, so the Yosemite forecast and Web cams will be worth watching this week as well: http://www.nps.gov/yose/photosmultimedia/webcams.htm
