Eastern Sierra Fall Colors Progress, Late September (2012)

This is one of the higher elevation places to catch fall colors in California's Eastern Sierra region, so it's one of the earlier places to catch the colors changing.  The smaller trees on the hillsides start to change first and that is already happening in 2014, but you can see from this September 28 photo from 2012 that the larger trees take a little longer and may not be significantly started until early October.

I'm on my second copy of this +Lowepro hip pack after I used the first one extensively 2005 – 2010.  It only cost around $65 if I remember correctly and I like having heavy gear firmly affixed to my hips for a low center of gravity and better stability and balance.  Also pairing it with a small day pack gives me more space but with maximum movement for agility and maximum stability while I'm crossing streams and balancing on small rocks like this.  I can take either or both bags with me, without having to lug everything everywhere.  It's a very flexible setup.  Found it… only $62.50 on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016J7V7E?ie=UTF8&creativeASIN=B0016J7V7E&linkCode=xm2&tag=jeffsulliphot-20

Fall colors are starting.  We are putting together an amazing few days for a small group of photographers.  We have a few spots still available.  There isn't a website just drop a note if you're interested.
