Bodie Night Photography Workshop August 24

I've added to our Bodie night workshop offerings an a la carte single night sign-up option for Saturday, August 24.
Unfortunately the WordPress blog on +Bluehost that I was posting most Bodie workshop information to is down, so I've added the registration button to the front page of my +Blogger  blog for now: www.activesole.blogspot.com
We had a couple of spaces open up for next Friday, Aug 9 as well!

In separate news, you have until tomorrow to buy tickets for the BBQ and after-hours program in Bodie State Historic Park one week from tomorrow, for Bodie Foundation members only after the annual Friends of Bodie Day event Saturday, August 10.  You can buy Bodie Foundation membership with the tickets.  BBQ ticket sales are accomplished through this link, and end tomorrow:
http://www.bodiefoundation.org/store
Select "Membership and Tickets", then "FOB Day Members Only Dinner"
Questions?  Call the Bodie Foundation at (760)647-6564.

Quick update on Remaining Bodie Dates for 2013
The next Bodie night workshop  is coming up Friday, August 9, 6pm – 1 am, two spaces left. Sunset will be 7:55 pm, and the 4.3% crescent moon sets 9:11 pm.  With dark skies the rest of the session, this the best Bodie date left for Milky Way photos this Summer!  As an added bonus, the park will be decorated for the annual Friends of Bodie Day event the following day.

The next date after that is Saturday, August 24, 6pm – 1 am.  Sunset 7:35, dark starry sky 9pm, then 89% moon rises 9:40 pm, bright moon lighting town 10 – 1 am, so this is a good date for crop sensor and mirrorless cameras.  I've been taking registration for this as a full weekend Eastern Sierra workshop at $595, but if there's enough interest we can open up enrollment for people for just the Bodie portion.

The last date we have is a dual session… night shooting Saturday, Oct 12 6pm – 1 am followed by dawn and interiors Sunday October 13, 6 am – noon, $545 for both.  That night sunset is 6:21 pm, with a 50% moon illuminating town for entire Bodie session.  The sun will be dropping behind the nearby hills as we arrive.  This date offers the most night hours, from roughly 8 pm – 1 am.
