Self Portraits

I finally got around to taking a halfway decent self portrait (as opposed to a spur of the moment travel photo). It would be much easier if I had an assistant to help with the lighting, focus and so on!

Setup: both direct flash and direct sunlight were too harsh, so for this shot I used diffuse light coming from a sunlit white translucent window shade off to the side (90 degrees viewer’s right), plus fill flash on the camera to soften shadows and provide a little catchlight shine in the eyes.
