Photo by a 13-Year-Old Wins Cover of Leading Astrophotography Book

Congratulations to my son +Thomas Sullivan, now 14, for having the Royal Observatory, Greenwich select his photo for the cover of the Astronomy Photographer of the Year Collection 2009 – 2012, Japanese Edition.

Thomas has two photos in the book from the 2012 Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition.  His sister +Nicole Sullivan and I each have one awarded photo in the book from the 2011 competition.  Nicole had the additional honor of having a film crew sent by the Royal Observatory to interview her in 2011: https://vimeo.com/28740663

We'll be out pursuing new astrophotography photos in the days around Thanksgiving with my father +Doug Sullivan as well… three generations!  He just took up night photography earlier this year when he bought a Canon T5i, and we bought him a tripod for his birthday.  We're looking forward to many sleep-deprived nights full of photography.

  1. +Jeff Sullivan  Congratulations to all of you ! That is awesome that you have  your dad involved, as well as your children, to enjoy the discovery of such an amazing subject 🙂 I am just learning how to capture the beauty of the night sky 🙂 I just love it!
