Lake Manly in Badwater Basin, Death Valley 2015

With rain falling in Death Valley this morning and more storms lined up in the Pacific to follow, I looked up some of my photos of past instances of lake Manly forming in the flooded Badwater Basin.

Ocean temperatures are shaping up to look like we may have a wet El Niño weather pattern this winter:

El Niño is expected to form and continue through the Northern Hemisphere winter 2018-19 (~80% chance) and into spring (55-60% chance).

So perhaps we’ll have water in Lake Manly in Badwater Basin for my December 10 – 14 workshop? I sure hope so!
