Sunset Light Through the Storm

The storm was thick enough a couple of nights ago, there didn't seem to be much point in being out, but a minutes before sunset the sun found a small opening to send its last rays of warm light through. From the remains of an ancient stone shelter, I scaled the rocky outcropping above, where generations of people had watched countless sunrises before me. The sunlight also formed a rainbow in rain showers towards the White Mountains.

In the morning, the Sierra Nevada was visible past sagebrush clearings. When the rock shelters were built, his site would make a a warmer place to live than closer to either the Sierra Nevada or the White Mountains in the winter months.
