Star Trails over erosion patterns in Pliocene-era bentonite clay in a former lake bed in rural Nevada.
The eroded hills were partially lit by the moon, but also illuminated using a ProtoMachines LED2 light set to approximately the same color temperature as moonlight.

+John Getchel I did. I figured that for serious light painting and night photography instruction, it's important to have a light adjustable in stops of light, and which I can use to create either a wide variety of colors or a range of cool to warm shades of white.

I like that kind of hillside, +Jeff Sullivan. Aside from a wonderful place to explore with an active curiosity, I can see it like playing with a larger-scale formation than sand tufas, smaller scale than Bryce. Repeating patterns and shapes…with a vengeance!
