Death Valley's Badwater salt flats at sunset one evening last week. Water passes over all the time, but on average only 1.9 inches of rain fall on Furnace Creek each year.
I'm really enjoying the shots I've been getting in Death Valley lately, and with it just down the road, I'm considering returning to the park around Dec 14-18, maybe once or twice in January as well…

I have a shot facing north +Andrew Wisler which really picks up that warm side-lighting of those salt ridges. The sky color isn't as intense of course, but that only helps the foreground take center stage.

If you haven't already, got to see the Furnace Creek Inn built in 1927. Just a great and beautiful place.

+Joseph Trinh We changed it to Dec 14 – 18, so if you wanted to come down Mon/Tue/Wed Dec 16 – 18 we could probably work something out. That's a long way for you to come though!
